Overview of the role:
- Working as a support function for the internal departments and working with the intermodal Manager to manage transport booking requirements
- Liaising with internal departments, suppliers, and shipping lines
- Quality control and ensuring the company meets transport bookings without fail
- Haulage allocation
- Completing all requirements or offering alternative options to be completed
- Supplier KPI monitoring
- Developing and maintaining relationships with all suppliers and shipping lines
- Strong customer service skills as well as a real attention to detail
- Possesses strong computer skills
- Prior experience in transport planning for a logistics/freight company
- Knowledge of hauler booking requirements
- Strong numerical and commercial skills
- Good telephone manner
- Able to work to tight deadlines and accuracy when doing so
