Job Opportunity: Systems Safety Engineer
Hourly Rate: £70 per hour (UMBRELLA)
Location: Hybrid – Edinburgh or Newcastle (on-site 3 days per week)
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract (Inside IR35)
Working Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Role
We are looking for a Systems Safety Engineer to lead and support critical safety projects. You will play a key role in analysing and improving system safety, working closely with teams to manage safety risks and ensure compliance. This is a great opportunity for an experienced safety engineer to contribute to innovative technologies while promoting a strong safety culture.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Analyze safety across the entire system lifecycle, from design to in-service support.
• Identify and assess hazards, and propose solutions to minimize safety risks.
• Prepare and present safety documentation to customers and stakeholders.
• Define and document safety requirements to meet regulations and customer needs.
• Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and partners to solve complex problems.
• Support safety programs, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For Must-Have Skills and Experience:

• Safety analysis experience in a safety-critical industry.
• Knowledge of engineering processes across multiple lifecycle phases.
• Familiarity with standards like ARP4754A, ARP4761, RTCA DO-254, or DO178C.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work with internal teams and external stakeholders effectively.
