Electrical Engineer – Power
Location: Filton or Barrow
Hourly Rate: £79.17 Umbrella Inside IR35 – 37 hours per week
Duration: 12 months
Working Arrangements: on site 2 days every 2 weeks
  
  
Are you an experienced electrical engineer with a passion for power systems? Join our team as a Principal Engineer (Power) and play a vital role in the development and analysis of innovative platform power systems. As a key leader, you will manage daily team activities, oversee project planning, and ensure the production of high-quality deliverables.
Core Duties:
  • Develop design solutions that meet time, cost, and quality standards in line with project milestones.
  • Manage requirements and acceptance criteria for systems or products.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and performance requirements throughout design, integration, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Produce documentation for design review processes, including technical specifications and design evidence.
  • Conduct design reviews and present findings to customers.
  • Provide technical support for performance and acceptance activities.
  • Review supplier documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Support bid proposals and project planning with accurate resource estimates.
  • Champion safety and environmental standards within the team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
  • Technical report writing and engineering lifecycle experience.
  • Familiarity with defence standards is advantageous.
  • Expertise in power system modelling, generators, switchgear, power electronics, and more.
  • Proficient in technical specifications, system calculations, and developing test procedures.
  • Experience with low voltage AC/DC electrical distribution and protection systems.
