Today is #WorldMenopauseDay and we're proud to announce that we've signed the #MenopauseWorkplacePledge, as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting employees who go through menopause.
The pledge, run by Wellbeing of Women, aims to redress the lack of awareness and support for women in the workplace who are experiencing #Menopause.
Our Head of People and newly appointed Menopause Ambassador, Anna Kramer, explained “#Inclusion and belonging is central to our company’s Purpose to eliminate bias, inequality, and privilege from talent engagement. Women make up a large part of the UK workforce and unfortunately, research tells us that 1 in 10 women leave their jobs because of menopausal symptoms which is a dreadful statistic. At Outsource, we want to break the taboo of speaking about menopause and encourage dialogue, understanding, and awareness of how menopause affects women in the workplace, as well as putting in place measures to support them. As a staffing firm, we are also in a unique position to be able to influence and advise customers on this important subject and help them to also make changes that will attract and retain female talent.”
As well as signing the pledge, Outsource UK has a Menopause Policy in place that was rolled out last year and this year we're providing our managers with guidance on how to effectively support employees who are going through menopause, as well as continuing to provide a range of guidance and support resources to all of our employees.
If you want to know more about our inclusion journey and how Outsource UK can help your organisation eliminate bias, inequality, and privilege from your own talent engagement, please don't hesitate to contact Anna Kramer (HRMailbox@outsource-uk.co.uk).
