SHE Lead (Specialist)
Client: BAE Systems
Duration: 6 months
Location: Barrow
Rate:  £50 PAYE  or £65 Umbrella
Working Arrangements: Hybrid working
 
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Lead to join BAE Systems. This role will be crucial in supporting the development and deployment of SHE policies, systems, and objectives across our business or designated site(s).
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert SHE advice and ensure systems and processes are in place to successfully manage SHE compliance and enable the business to achieve its strategic goals.
  • Lead and support SHE initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Oversee SHE assurance activities to maintain high standards of safety, health, and environmental management.
  • The role may include direct supervision of a SHE team.
  • The role requires highly developed competencies in a SHE discipline such as Environmental Management, Occupational Hygiene, Assurance, Culture, Training, Fire, or Construction/Infrastructure management.
 
Qualification Requirements:
  • Hold a QCF/NQF Level 5 (or higher) SHE qualification, such as:
    • NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
    • Level 5 NVQ in Occupational Safety and Health Practice
    • Level 6 NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health and Safety
    • NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management
    • A relevant Honours Degree in Safety, Health, and/or Environmental studies
    • Or an equivalent qualification
  • A minimum of five years of post-qualification experience in SHE-related roles.
  • Chartered membership of a professional SHE institution is desirable.
