Freight Forwarder - Ocean
£33,000 basic salary + 10% bonus

Outsource UK is seeking skilled Freight Forwarders with a background in Ocean Freight for our client in Birmingham.

Overview of the role:
- Receive customer quotations via email/online portal etc
- To cover Ocean – Imports/Exports/Cross Trade
- Negotiate rates with carriers/haulers/suppliers
- Prepare and submit customer quotations and proposals within the agreed timeframe
- Work within our in-house system to create and issue quotations
- Communicate with customers to manage and follow up on all quotes
- Analyse and circulate to the relevant teams, adjusting pricing where possible
- Develop and build relationships and provide the highest level of customer service to all customers
- Monitor carrier websites and notifications
- Engagement with ocean freight operational teams to ensure smooth handover of secured shipments
- Strong customer service skills as well as a real attention to detail
- Possesses strong computer skills
- Industry and operational knowledge of Ocean Freight
- Strong numerical and commercial skills
- Good telephone manner
- Able to work to tight deadlines and accuracy when doing so
