We believe that everyone has the potential to be the best person for the job, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or disability. Which is why we have a team of Inclusion Ambassadors who are becoming subject matter experts in their special interest! They support our colleagues and our clients on Inclusion and form part of our commitment to be the UK's best inclusive recruiter.

We're truly excited to announce the latest addition to our Inclusion Ambassador team, Daniella Goodwin, as our Women in Logistics Ambassador.

Hi Daniella, tell us about yourself!

While I’ve only been with Outsource UK for about five months, I bring with me 16 years of sales and recruitment experience, primarily in the tech and logistics industries.

Those years were spent in quite non-diverse spaces and I’ve come up against my own challenges being a woman in these fields which is one of the reasons I’m so passionate about advocating for gender diversity today.

Why did you choose to be our Women in Logistics Ambassador?

Becoming the Women in Logistics Ambassador felt like a natural fit for me. I’ve always been passionate about championing diversity and inclusion, especially in spaces where women have historically been underrepresented.

Logistics is such a dynamic field, but let’s face it, it’s still quite male-dominated!

So, having dedicated ambassadors for women helps create visibility, support, and most importantly, a network for those of us in the field. It’s about creating a space where women feel they belong and can thrive.

Why do you think it’s important to have dedicated ambassadors for women in this field?

Gender diversity in logistics and supply chain management can’t be understated. it brings fresh perspectives, different problem-solving approaches and encourages innovation.

When women are at the table, we’re contributing to not just better business outcomes but also a more inclusive culture that benefits everyone.

How do you feel gender diversity impacts the logistics and supply chain industry?

To attract more female workers, companies need to rethink their policies. It’s not just about talking the talk but walking the walk.

Flexibility, mentorship programs and clear career progression paths are key, but so is fostering a culture where women feel supported and valued from day one.

There’s power in representation, so having women in leadership roles can really shift perceptions and inspire the next generation - that’s what I aiming to do at Outsource!

What do you think companies can put in place to attract more female workers?

Addressing gender equity within teams requires intentional actions so creating equal pay, opportunities for advancement, and actively working to remove biases.

It’s about creating environments where everyone can grow based on their abilities, not their gender (the best person for the job role)!

How do you believe organisations can effectively address and promote gender equality within their teams?

I totally believe that leadership teams need to do just that, lead by example, mentor other women and as a company showcasing a commitment to inclusion and ensuring that both policies and everyday practices reflect that.

What advice would you give to young women considering a career in logistics?

My advice would be, go for it! Logistics is such a rewarding field that offers endless opportunities. Don’t be afraid to make your mark. Build your network, seek mentors and trust in your abilities, you belong in this space as much as anyone else.

You were amazing on the Women In Logistics Panel at the NetworKings event, can you tell us a little bit more about that?

I absolutely love speaking, sharing my journey, and hopefully inspiring others along the way.

The panel discussions were so engaging, with meaningful conversations about the value of diversity. We shared personal stories of both challenges and triumphs, and it was truly uplifting.

I left the event feeling energised and inspired by the incredible women and men who are genuinely committed to driving positive change in our industry.

It is changing but slowly so consistency of awareness of this topic is crucial in my eyes for generations to come and thrive.

What have you got planned for your role as an Inclusion Ambassador?

I’ve got some exciting plans for this year! My focus is on expanding networking opportunities and enhancing both client and Outsource's mentorship programs.

I also want to collaborate closely with companies to spotlight the incredible success stories of women in logistics.

For me, it’s all about creating a thriving community that promotes growth, celebrates diversity, and paves the way for future female leaders in the industry.
