Weapons & Munitions Tester
Location: Ridsdale, Northumberland
Contract: 7 months (Contingent)
Hours: 37 per week | Mon–Thurs: 08:00–16:45 | Fri: 08:00–12:00
Hourly Rate: £19.37 PAYE or £25.90 Umbrella
IR35: Inside IR35
Working Pattern: On-site, 5 days/week
The Opportunity
BAE Systems is looking for a Trials Technician to support the testing and development of weapons and munitions at our Ridsdale site. You’ll work hands-on in a small team, setting up and running live trials to customer specifications while maintaining a strong safety culture.

The Opportunity
BAE Systems is looking for a Trials Technician to support the testing and development of weapons and munitions at our Ridsdale site. You’ll work hands-on in a small team, setting up and running live trials to customer specifications while maintaining a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct function tests and prepare test arenas
- Operate and maintain lifting/test equipment
- Capture and report trial data
- Ensure all trials meet safety, time, and quality targets
- Support ongoing improvement of test facilities
- Adhere to SHE and site safety policies
- Experience in a mechanical, military, or weapons testing environment
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work outdoors in all weather (+30°C to -12°C)
- Forklift truck experience beneficial
- Familiarity with SAP, Microsoft Office, or Teamcenter (desirable)
- IOSH or similar H&S qualification (preferred)
- A team player with a practical, hands-on approach
- BPSS clearance required with SC in progress
- Must have own transport to site
