This role is critical for the design, integration, and maintenance of advanced combat systems, ensuring they are safe, fit for purpose, and meet operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team, managing daily activities and deliverables while fostering skills development.
- Provide expertise in structural, thermal, and hydraulic mechanical design in the naval/marine domain.
- Review and refine design information for Preliminary, Critical, and Final Design Reviews.
- Deliver mechanical design interface documentation and produce engineering drawings to BS 8888 standards.
- Conduct engineering calculations for design validation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and external partners to resolve design challenges.
- Ensure compliance with safety, contractual, and environmental standards throughout the design lifecycle.
- Support system acceptance activities and supplier document reviews.
- Technical reports, specifications, and system design documents.
- Engineering solutions supporting build activities and defect resolution.
- Requirements management and acceptance criteria.
- Participation in design reviews and presentations to customers.
