About the Role
BAE are seeking multiple new FORAN Designer to join the Engineering function within the Naval Ships business unit. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality design solutions for complex maritime projects, contributing to the success of the Canadian Surface Combatant programme.

BAE are seeking multiple new FORAN Designer to join the Engineering function within the Naval Ships business unit. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality design solutions for complex maritime projects, contributing to the success of the Canadian Surface Combatant programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver robust design solutions in line with intent and through-life requirements.
- Conduct and validate self and peer checks of engineering outputs, including Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Support internal/external audits and approval processes.
- Guide and coach junior designers and trainees, fostering early career development.
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure quality and compliance across design outputs.
- Maintain schedule commitments and support workload coordination when required.
- Strong background in an engineering or technical role, ideally within naval/marine projects.
- In-depth knowledge of Detail Design tools, standards, and best practices.
- Ability to interpret, review, and validate technical drawings and documents.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
- Able to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a team.
