In 2021 we launched our new company purpose - to eliminate bias, privilege and inequality within talent engagement. Over the past year we have been working hard to live and breathe our purpose, and - to measure our progress - each year we ask our team to complete a survey so that we can measure how we’re doing as an organisation.
We’re pleased to be able to publish our 2022 results. As always, there is work to be done, but we’re thrilled to be able to see our progress.
The following results are based on 42/67 employees completing the survey...
Our highlights...
-
100% of our team think that diversity is encouraged at Outsource – up from 71% last year.
This is a big one for us. Since launching our new purpose, we have worked hard to ensure that it is at the forefront of everything that we do. For 100% of our team to be adamant that it’s important to us is fantastic.
-
91% of our team think that our culture encourages and allows employees to be themselves at work – up from 84% last year.
We want everyone to feel like they belong at Outsource, and to feel like they can be themselves at work. We’re pleased to be able to see a steady improvement in this score.
-
98% of our team think that colleagues at Outsource appreciate others whose backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences are different from their own - up from 84% last year.
-
100% of the team feel that they are respected and valued by their team mates and colleagues. Up from 95% last year.
Again, these are key measurements for us, and we’re thrilled that everyone feels like they are respected and supported by their colleagues.
-
83% think that Outsource takes active measures to seek a diverse candidate pool when hiring – up from 39% last year.
Our People team have worked really hard this year to update all of our internal hiring processes – including things like anonymous CVs, not questioning salary history and opening up all of our roles to flexible ways of working. It’s great to see that the team recognises this commitment.
Where we can do better...
-
85% of our team think that racial, sexual, and gender-based jokes or slurs are not tolerated at Outsource.
This is up from 73% last year, but we can do better. We’re aiming for 100%.
-
87% of our team think that employees of different ages are valued equally at Outsource.
This is up 1% from last year, but again, we can do better – we’re aiming for 100%.
-
85% think that Outsource provides an environment for the free and open expression of ideas, opinions, and beliefs. Up from 78% last year.
We think that true inclusion is where everyone is free to be themselves and to share their beliefs within a positive and supportive environment. One of the things we’re going to be doing next is to find ways to encourage our team to ask the questions about ED&I that they perhaps haven’t felt comfortable asking before, to stimulate more positive, open conversations.
